Location: Red Bank, TN
This sump pit was previously just an ever-widening hole in the ground, which presented a real tripping hazard, as well as a dirty environment that risked clogging the pump. I installed a sizable resin sump basin and cover and replaced the aging pump (which had an unreliable float switch) with a new, slightly more powerful one. The rest of the hole as backfilled with slate to match the slate rock floor already present in the crawlspace. I then routed a dehumidifier line to empty out into the basin.
